Dresden – Caspar David Friedrich
Show notes
The Albertinum is Dresden's museum of modern art: here you can see sculptures and paintings by artists such as the sculptor Rodin or by the painters Max Liebermann, Otto Dix, Gerhard Richter, Georg Baselitz - and, as a pioneer of modern art: Caspar David Friedrich. With 14 oil paintings by him, plus 70 drawings and a sketchbook in the Dresden Kupferstich-Kabinett, it is one of the largest Friedrich collections in existence.
In 2024, the Albertinum will celebrate the 250th anniversary of Caspar David Friedrich's birth with a major special exhibition: "Caspar David Friedrich. Where it all started" runs from 24.8.2024 to 5.1.2025. You can find more information about the exhibition on the Albertinum's website: https://albertinum.skd.museum/ausstellungen/caspar-david-friedrich-wo-alles-begann/
